this page starts with some work produced over last academic year, when the classes were in 1st year:
Both first year classes have been active this session in the creation of animation films. We have been fortunate enough to have Oliver Ridgewell with us for one lesson per week – we have written songs with him that just lend themselves to animation!
So here are our latest 1st year productions:
from 1W – An Amazing Pirate Adventure
also from 1W – the Fiesta (will be uploaded soon)
from 1M – Edinburgh Explorers
After a successful visit to the National Gallery, both classes have been creating their own art gallery in a cardboard box. Here is a selection:
2014 – 15 has started with 2nd year participation in a wonderful cross curricular project linking to the 50th anniversary of the building of the Forth Road Bridge. Both 2nd year classes went to visit an art exhibition at Hopetoun House by Scottish artist Kate Downie, who was artist in residence at the bridge over the summer months. She introduced the classes to her work about the bridges, and talked about her ways of making art. We then returned to the classroom with some wonderful research material and made our own giant drawings of the bridges. Here are some photos of us at work:
and here are some of the completed artworks:
Very cool animations 1M and 1W👍
You are all so wonderfully creative👏
I think we should show these in assembly. 🌟
I love the mood you have created with your paintings of the Forth Road Bridge. The contrast between the structure and the sea is striking.
I’m also impressed by the poetry and ‘words of wisdom’ you’ve selected on the theme of Bridges to help annotate your art work.
Well done S2😃🎨
Well done teachers👍
