Friday 22 May – PE with Mr McBride
To finish our week, Mr McBride has created a PE lesson for our learners. This would be particularly appropriate for learners in primary classes and/or those with a Learning Disability profile.
Have a lovely weekend
Thursday 21 May – School Closure Update
Following the First Minister’s statement earlier today, planning that allows us to reopen our school to learners from Tuesday 11 August can begin. The exact date that Kaimes School building will re-open to learners is still to be confirmed, as is the format of the school week. This will be decided based on the national and local guidance we receive over the coming days and weeks.
Whilst we will continue to offer all of the same supports and learning activities that we have until this point, attention will also now turn to preparing the physical building and curriculum ahead of the new session. We will share plans with you in due course. We hope to be able to do this before Friday 12 June.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
Wednesday 20 May – Senior Assembly
Tuesday 19 May – Mr Burge’s Art Challenge
We are now on our second week of ‘Thinking Skills and our staff have created a range of activities in the OneNote Skills Folders. There have been some small changes to these folders which I talk about in my video (with demonstration) below. This has been done to help our learners and families find activities that are most suitable for them. If you still haven’t managed to access the OneNote folders and would like to do so please talk to your Key Adult or email the email@example.com account.
In my short video update this morning I offer the chance to have our own learners’ show case their art work in place of the image currently at the top of this home page (of me). We will receive entires to the Whatsapp number or firstname.lastname@example.org between today and 12.00pm, Friday 29 May. When you send them in, please make sure you tell us who the work belongs to. All entries will be show cased on the home page in a collage in the same way we have shared our work in the past through #KaimesInAction.
Have a great week.
Monday 18 May – Primary Assembly
Staff across our school are on holiday today; stepping away form their computers, video meetings and work phone calls and doing activities around their home that supports their wellbeing. We would encourage you to do the same where possible. Even though today is a holiday Monday, we are keen to provide the weekly structure that many of you have become very used to. Please see Miss Watters Assembly below. All of our learning resources and activities are also available on line in the usual places should you wish to access them.
My Headteacher video update will be shared tomorrow with an Art Challenge for our learners.
There is currently no further update on when Kaimes School building will reopen.
